Camp 2010

Thanks to the Summer Camp Fund and generous donors like you, over 100 youth were able to spend a life-changing week at The Salvation Army's residential camp, Camp Walter Johnson. They had the opportunity to experience many “firsts” during their week at camp: first time riding on a boat, first time roasting marshmallows at a campfire, first time fishing, first time learning archery, or first time seeing frogs hop in a creek. For many of the participants, it was their first time leaving Charlotte and being surrounded by nature. These young people were able to push past their fears to climb the ropes course and even swing down from 50 feet high. The participants will continue to talk about their camp adventures for years to come, and their experience will help shape who they ultimately become as adults.
