On July 26, 2011 a group of 17 youth from our Boys & Girls Club at the Center of Hope(Women and children's homeless shelter) along with 8 chaperones left for a 3-day whirlwind tour of our nation's capital. 

They had the opportunity to meet and ask questions with North Carolina Congresswoman Sue Myrick and Senator Richard Burr.  10 year-old Nija asked Rep. Sue Myrick, "What are you doing about homelessness?"  One of many questions that were asked.

The trip was summed up best by Ray, a 17 year-old young man with a bright future.  As he gazed up at the Capitol he said, "I am going to work here one day".
